Environmental art refers to art in two different contexts: art in relation to ecological issues and/or art in relation to natural issues, such as formal, political, historical or social context issues. When artists paint onsite, they have shown to develop a deep connection with the surrounding environment and have brought this connection onto their canvases. Currently, the term "environmental art" has expanded to encompass the vast urban landscape. This allows artists to communicate ideas and concepts about the environment to a larger audience.
